Mantras that can instantly improve your Daily Life
Mantras in the non-spiritual sense can be powerful. A string of words repeated can help us focus and distil our thoughts. In a world of noise and even more digital distractions, they can very useful. Here I will share some useful mantras that I’ve personally used that you might benefit from.
When working out, “there is pain that is in the body, and there is pain that is in the mind” will help you to go further. Our bodies sends us pain and fatigue signals as a way to preserve us. However, most of the pain and exhaustion that we feel when working out will not damage our bodies. We feel them greatly mentally — it is pain in the mind, and not pain in the body. By repeating this mantra, you can reorient your mind to quiet the pain in the mind and to only be receptive to pain in the body, when it does come.
When getting up, we might struggle to get our day started. I would tell myself “get up, don’t think”. This works best when you have crafted a morning routine. For me, it is: brush my teeth, shower, get dressed, make my butter coffee. Thinking should only come after the last part of the morning routine or when you have an activity slotted in your morning routine that requires thinking. Outside of that, don’t think until you’ve performed all your morning routines.
We set goals for ourselves and work towards them. We figure out how to reach them but sometimes due to the tedious path, we feel demotivated. We must trust ourselves and continue with the struggle. Here, I would say “have faith in the process” because the process that you have created will inevitably lead to you achieving those goals. Of course, you have to make sure that you’ve set up a good process first.
